Job SummarynThe Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) business unit across Oman. This includes identifying new market opportunities within the oil & gas, water, power, telecom, and infrastructure sectors, securing new contracts, managing key client relationships, and developing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies tailored to the Omani market. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical sales within the drilling or trenchless technology industry in the MENA region, specifically Oman. nKey Responsibilitiesn1. Strategic Growth & Market DevelopmentnDevelop and execute a robust business development strategy focused on maximizing HDD market share and revenue growth in Oman. nConduct continuous market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, competitor activities, and potential projects within target sectors (e. g. , PDO, OPWP, Haya Water, OETC, private developers). nFormulate comprehensive sales forecasts, budgets, and operational targets in collaboration with senior management. n2. Sales & Contract AcquisitionnLead the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation, initial client engagement, technical presentations, and proposal submission to final contract negotiation and closing. nIdentify, qualify, and secure new HDD contracts for pipeline crossings, utility installations, and other infrastructure projects. nManage the preparation of high-quality, technically compliant, and commercially viable tender responses, bids, and proposals, working closely with engineering and operations teams. nEnsure all commercial and contractual activities comply with local Omani regulations and company policies. n3. Client & Stakeholder ManagementnBuild, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in client organizations, government bodies, and international contractors operating in Oman. nAct as the primary point of contact for all business development activities, consistently articulating the company's value proposition and technical capabilities in HDD. nAttend industry conferences, exhibitions, and networking events to represent the company and expand professional contacts. n4. Operational CollaborationnCollaborate with the Operations and Engineering teams to ensure a smooth, accurate, and successful handover of secured projects for execution. nProvide technical input and commercial guidance during project feasibility and planning stages. nUtilize CRM systems to accurately track all sales activities, pipeline progress, and client interactions, providing regular reports to senior management. nQualifications and ExperiencenEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum) or Business AdministrationMarketing with a strong technical background. nExperience: Minimum of 57 years of progressive experience in Business Development or Technical Sales, with at least 3 years specifically in the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) or Trenchless Technology sector. nRegional Knowledge: Proven experience and an established network of contacts in the Oil & Gas, Utilities, and Infrastructure sectors in Oman is essential. nTechnical Skills: Deep understanding of HDD methods, equipment, applications, and typical project requirements. nLanguage Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and Arabic is highly desirable. nOther: Valid OmaniGCC driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the Sultanate. nKey CompetenciesnStrategic and analytical thinking with a results-driven approach. nExceptional negotiation and closing skills. nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport at all organizational levels. nSelf-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision. nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
